Open-source intelligence,
delivered with the discipline
of a national-intelligence shop.

PIS is a private intelligence service. We turn global news, event data, sanctions lists, and specialist feeds into sourced, confidence-rated briefings — delivered daily, with flash alerts when the picture changes.

Capabilities

Four functions. One continuous cycle.

Every briefing PIS produces passes through the same pipeline — collection, analysis, review, delivery — with the same standards applied to every line.

01 / CONTINUOUS COLLECTION

Continuous collection

Automated ingestion from global news wires, GDELT event data, OFAC/EU/UK/UN sanctions lists, and a curated set of specialist feeds. No gaps, no lag.

02 / ANALYTIC RIGOR

Analytic rigor

Every assessment uses ICD-203 probability language — LIKELY, HIGHLY LIKELY, with stated confidence bands. No hedging without precision. No claims without sourcing.

03 / INDICATORS & WARNING

Indicators & warning

Standing indicators track escalation across geopolitical, security, financial, and cyber domains. Thresholds are defined in advance; alerts are triggered by evidence, not instinct.

04 / FLASH ALERTS

Flash alerts

When a material change is detected — a designation, an interdiction, a shift in a watched corridor — a sourced flash reaches your inbox within minutes, not hours.

Method

A five-stage cycle, run continuously.

The pipeline mirrors the discipline used by institutional analytic shops. Each stage has defined inputs, outputs, and review gates.

01

Collection

Automated ingestion from 232 curated feeds. Sanctions lists, news wires, event data, specialist feeds.

02

Processing

Deduplication, entity resolution, translation, and structured tagging across domains.

03

Analysis

Multi-model assessment with explicit confidence bands, alternative hypotheses, and source attribution.

04

Dissemination

Daily briefings, flash alerts, and on-demand products delivered to encrypted channels.

05

Feedback

Client input refines collection priorities, watchlists, and analytic focus for the next cycle.

OPEN SOURCE // PIS ASSESSMENT
Black Sea grain-corridor watch — sanctions-designation cascade and narrative divergence
BLUF
Event-stream volume, new sanctions-list activity, and social-media narrative tracking over the past 14 days converge on a Black Sea grain-corridor risk picture. PIS assesses with moderate-to-high confidence that recent designation actions are LIKELY 55–85% linked to a previously tracked network, while the absence of a corresponding UN Security Council listing leaves an enforcement gap. No indicator has crossed the ALERT threshold; the picture is presented at WATCH.
Key findings
  1. 01
GDELT event volume tagged to the corridor rose 42% over the past 14 days, cross-referenced against ISW's daily assessment of the same theater. Pattern is HIGHLY LIKELY 85–95% consistent with a genuine shift in operational tempo rather than reporting noise. [ GDELT event stream · ISW daily assessment · PIS collection ]
  2. 02
OFAC and EU Consolidated List updates in the period added 4 new entries linked to a previously tracked network; UN SC and UK HMT show no corresponding action — LIKELY 55–85% a jurisdictional gap rather than an intelligence gap, since the entities are already known. [ OFAC SDN · EU Consolidated List · UN SC · UK HMT ]
  3. 03
SOCMINT monitoring of tracked Telegram channels shows a threefold rise in chatter volume referencing the corridor, with narrative framing diverging sharply by audience language — LIKELY 55–85% consistent with a coordinated narrative push rather than an organic reaction. [ SOCMINT collection · PIS narrative tracker ]
Indicators & warnings
WATCH Further designation actions matching the same network pattern.
WATCH Narrative convergence across the currently diverging channel clusters.
ALERT Any UN Security Council listing action — would be the first of the assessment period and would close the enforcement gap.
Archive

Past editions, kept in the open.

Every public briefing PIS publishes lives here, in full — so you can check the track record instead of taking our word for it. Nothing gets quietly removed.

The archive starts filling the day PIS goes live — the first public edition will be the next scheduled briefing after launch, and every one after it stays here, unedited.

Sources & coverage

Open sources. Global reach. Curated.

PIS does not claim access to classified material. We collect only from legitimate open sources — and we curate aggressively to separate signal from noise.

Why PIS

The rigor of an institutional shop — open to everyone.

Enterprise terminals are built for traders, not analysts. Government assessments are classified. PIS occupies the space between — serious analytic discipline, delivered to the people who need it, kept free and sustained by its readers.

Security & discretion

Your watchlist is not our marketing material.

We handle client information with the same discipline we apply to source material. What you ask us to watch, and what we send you, stays between us.

Data handling

All collection is open-source. Client data is stored encrypted at rest and in transit, with strict access controls and audit logging.

Client confidentiality

We do not publish client names, watchlists, or the subjects of our work. NDA is standard; discretion is structural, not contractual.

Delivery channels

Daily briefings via encrypted email. Flash alerts via Session, secure portal, or your preferred channel. No public-facing dashboards.

Access

Free to read. Funded by readers.

No paywall, no seat license. PIS is sustained by donations, not subscriptions — so the analysis reaches everyone who needs it, and supporters keep it running and growing.

Analytic standards

Tradecraft, not technology.

PIS is built on a simple premise: the discipline used by institutional intelligence services — structured collection, explicit probability language, sourced assessment, standing indicators — can be delivered to private clients without the overhead, classification, or institutional inertia.

We use AI as a tool in the pipeline, not as the analyst. Every assessment is reviewed against source material, alternative hypotheses are considered, and confidence is stated — never implied. When we do not know something, we say so.

PIS is not affiliated with any government body, intelligence service, or multinational organization. We are an independent private service, staffed by analysts with institutional backgrounds, operating entirely within open-source legal frameworks.

Support the work

PIS runs today. Funding makes it faster and deeper.

We are honest about how this operates. PIS runs now on a dedicated server and the free tiers of the AI and data services it depends on. It works — but free tiers are rate-limited and throttled, so information arrives slower and coverage is narrower than it could be. Donations do one thing: unlock paid tiers and premium feeds. Every contribution buys speed and depth — nothing else.

Now — free tiers

Daily briefings. Core open sources. Alerts batched to the collection cycle. Analysis paced by rate limits.

Funded — paid tiers

Near-real-time flash alerts. Expanded premium sources. Faster, deeper multi-model analysis on every briefing.

Want to contribute? Now is your time — we are evolving.

Free tiers got PIS running. Your support turns those limits into real-time, deeper intelligence — and pushes us onto better models and sources.

FAQ

The questions we'd ask too.

Why is this free?

Because gating serious analysis behind a seat license defeats the point of open-source intelligence — the people who most need the signal (independent researchers, journalists, small NGOs, the just-curious) are usually the ones who can't afford an enterprise terminal. PIS runs on donations instead, so reading it costs nothing.

What does my donation actually buy?

Nothing but throughput. PIS runs today on free-tier AI models and free or rate-limited data feeds — it works, but slower and shallower than it could. Every donation moves a line item on the funding roadmap above: a paid model tier, a faster collection cycle, a premium sanctions or event feed. No line item is "team salary" or "marketing" — there is no team and no marketing budget.

Who runs PIS?

An independent, self-funded operator — not a company, agency, or government body. See Standards for what "independent" means in practice.

Is this affiliated with a government or intelligence service?

No. PIS collects and analyzes only open-source material and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representative of any government body, intelligence service, or multinational organization.

How anonymous is the confidential channel, really?

The .onion tip line and PGP-encrypted email hide content, and hide network origin if — and only if — you use them correctly (Tor Browser, no identifying details in the message). The plain contact form is convenient, not anonymous — it carries your email address. See Share confidentially for the honest breakdown of what each channel actually protects.

What does "open-source only" rule out?

Classified material, paid access we haven't licensed, and anything we're not lawfully entitled to hold. If a finding needs a source we don't have, the briefing says so — a stated confidence band, not a guess dressed up as one.
